Oh, and on a side note, what do we do with her hair?? It is very fine and kind of scraggly. We were going to let it grow out, but we are thinking of cutting bangs and cutting the length a smidgen, similar to a page boy cut like the drawing below, though her hair is still so fine so I don't think it will quite look like this. Any thoughts?

One Smart Cookie
I'm sure many of you are familiar with Pavlov's dogs, and classical conditioning. Well, Darya has been conditioned to sign "cookie" repeatedly when we pull into the Publix parking lot and as we go into the store. (Publix is a grocery store chain and they give out free cookies to kids in their bakery.) I have absolutely no doubt the next time I take her there, she will sign it all the more until she gets that cookie! :-) Here she is, enjoying her reinforcement:

I think that style would suit her pretty face perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't stop smiling thinking of her signing "cookie" at Publix. She such a smart little girl, Marianne! I just may have to see this in person! :-) Thanks for sharing. You could also do a little longer side swept bangs. Either way, she's cute as a button, so anything will work.
ReplyDeleteI miss Publix! We used to live in the Southeast and oh how I loved Publix. You're making me sentimenal - have some crap dip for me!
ReplyDeleteI have to vote no on the bangs. Only because I am a child of the 80's and the bang trends both consumed and traumatized me! LOL! I have vowed never to give Josie bangs. Although, let's face it: Darya would be gorgeous no matter what!
Based on the most recent picture, I'm guessing you decided against bangs? Haha! Just wanted to tell you that my Abby's hair is totally the same way- super thin and gets tangled really easily. We cut bangs on her a while back and I've loved it. Her hair is so thin, barrettes slide out, so this keeps it out of her face. And accentuates those cute, almond shaped DS eyes. :) Just my two cents worth. Darya is so cute you could shave her head and she'd be adorable!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, no bangs yest Amy :-) I'm thinking they are too high maintenance for me. I am soooo lazy when it comes to hair that the thought of having to do regular trims is too much for me! lol Plus that girl can sweat so they would just stick to her forehead and probably look worse. I do need to trim it a bit, though.
