Look at my duckling waddle a couple of steps! (Or as Charley Parker said, she looks like Big Bird today). Thanks Kate for capturing this!
Edited to Add: Darya took several more steps several times during today's afternoon visit!! She took 4-5 steps at a time and you should have seen her glowing and giggling with pride!!
She was such a rockstar today!!! I just love how our girls share outfits ~ do you think Bethany will ever rank high enough to get the fancy red dress? ROTFL
Orphanage couture is pretty high-brow these days, huh? At least the girls weren't in snowsuits today! That was nice. :)
WTG on the steps, Darya! You'll be a walking pro in no time!
I found your blog because our friends, the Dove family (they just took their second Ukrainian born son home about 3 months ago!), had listed some auction items for the Land family. I think the Land's had mentioned you all in a recent blog. We have a big heart for Ukrainian adoptions, and we've met several families who were here for that reason since we've been here. (All of those meetings came about because the Lord made it happen, so it's been quite awesome to be a part of!) We haven't been to Odessa yet, but are planning on it as soon as we have time. If you guys need anything at all when you get back to Kyiv please don't hesitate to let us know. Oh, and Kyiv is the more Ukrainian spelling and Kiev is the Russian spelling...the United States has officially started recognizing it as Kyiv, so that's what we use...plus, we're pro-Ukrainian!! (Especially since that's the language we studied!) :-)
Ok, I take that back! I just tried to retrace my steps...the Land's mentioned the Nalle's...and the Nalle's mentioned you all. You know how blogging goes...it's like a giant snowball effect! I will also use the fact that it's way past my bedtime and I probably shouldn't be typing since my eyes are going blurry on me! Ha!
I am sooooo proud of her. She is not behind her Ds peers at all. Just think how cute it will be to see her and Ella walking together. Thanks for sharing that and thanks to your friends for capturing it!!
I always hear about the amazing changes the little ones go through when they finally have their forever family. I think Darya is already growing by leaps and bounds... She is blossoming under the warm rays of love!
